The Chief Justice, Sophia Akufo, is reported to have written officially to the EC boss, Charlotte Osei and her other deputies in the wake of the impeachment petition filed against her, the Daily Guide claims.

According to the Newspaper, the chief justice has started her investigations into the petition on Friday, August 4 following an official request by the president, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
"The letter from the Office of the Chief Justice was delivered last Friday. The two other Commissioners, Amadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku Amankwaa, have equally been written to in a bid to get their reaction." The paper claims.
YEN.com.gh is yet to confirm this claim but what we can report is that a lawyer has filed a suit against the attorney general and the chief justice demanding for the petition to be handled specifically by the supreme court.
